Drive 3 not found

August 18, 2010 at 16:23:46
Specs: Windows XP
Ever since I deleted some kind of Microsoft file, I get the message "Drive 3 not found: Parallel ATA, PATA-1 (PRI IDE Slave)" -- and I need to hit F1 to boot up. Compared to the people who post here, I'm a computer-nincompoop and shouldn't be deleting files at all. If anyone can help me fix this, please go nice'n'easy on me. Thanks.

Try running sfc /scannow. Look at the link below for help with it.

This did the trick. The F1 prompt no longer engages and both my CD drives are functioning. If anyone has to repeat the fix, be sure to insert the space in "sfc /scannow." Thanks for your help!
