Specs: unspecified, p4 2.0Ghz
I recently acquired an old dragon P4S ultra MOBO.
I bought a P4 (part # 2.0ghz/512/400 SL6S7 3252A152-0904).
I know most of that means it's a 2Ghz cpu with 512K cache and 400Mhz FSB.
The question is; will this processor work with this motherboard?
I ask because I installed it, turned on the system and heard the sound
of a dieing processor.
Any help, suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks J.B.G.

Could you have found a crappier motherboard?

What does a dying processor sound like? AFAIK, they don't make any noise.

A dying processor sound's kinda like a LOUD POP.
And as far as a "crappier motherboard", I severely doubt it.
Fortunately I paid nothing for it.
I did the research on this board after I killed the processor,
and came to the same "crap" conclusion.
Unfortunately I thought it was good and bought a processor
for it. This is why I asked if this processor type was supposed
to work with this MOBO. The manual lacks this information,
as do most of china's technical documents.
Thanks J.B.G.
