Double screen - one on top of the other

Specs: Windows vista, AMD Turion 64x2
I have an Acer Aspire 7520 laptop with NVidia 256MB graphics. When I power up I get a double screen, one on top of the other. Does this mean my video card has gone bad? If not, what else could it be?

Yeah probably but more bad news. On laptops the video card is embeded. You'll have to change the motherboard specific to your laptop. If the laptop is outdated it might not be easy to find one and probably easier if not cheaper to buy another laptop.

Thank you for your reply. I thought the same thing and was shocked to see that this video card is able to be physically removed. It's the NVidia GeForce 8400 G 256 MB.

So this is the only possible resolution?

You might want go here: http://laptoprepairmanual.blogspot.... and download the manual. It's a good one and has disassembly photos and trouble shooting sections. It's pdf so use acrobat reader to save it to your computer.
