Yes the bios on your mobo support hard drive larger than 137gb. Don't buy a converter better buy sata pci card.

Yes, definitely go for an add on PCI controller card to give you multiple SATA ports.

You will need it to run your new large hard drive which will most likely be a SATA hard drive.

Why SATA to IDE? Do they make 1 TB IDE drives?
OR
Do you actually mean IDE to SATA? I would avoid this.

You need a PCI SATA add on controller card to be able to use SATA drives.

If you are worried about which drive to boot from then your BIOS will allow you to boot the hard drives on the PCI SATA card.

i have one doubt sir,

i.e. if i bought sata add on controller card.

if i want to install os on the sata drive then how it will recognize the sata drive because sata add on controller drivers has to be installed so how can i install the os on sata drive that is connected to sata add on controller.

SATA controller card will come with its driver disc.
When your OS CD boots there is normally a prompt during set up phase to hit F6 if you wish to load SATA drivers before you fully install the OS.

Once you press F6, the OS install set up programme will note that you wish to add the SATA drivers to the install.
At the appropriate point when required you will be asked to provide the driver floppy to install the driver.

NOTE if you want to install on a SATA drive from the PCI add on card you will also need to update your BIOS settings to indicate this.

The rest should be as normal.
