Do I get a SATA or IDE hard drive?

February 8, 2011 at 12:29:04
Specs: Windows XP & Windows 7, P4/1.5GB - Core i5/4GB
I have a Dell Dimension 2400 and know that it uses the old IDE connection. There is a SATA drive that has 250GB for $43 and a IDE that has 160GB for $45. I could convert the SATA to IDE with the adapter that can covert it but will it cause issues with the motherboard? Which one do I get?

Just get the IDE for now, save your money for a new PC with actual SATA ports.
