Display problem Asus EEPc netbook

Toshiba / A15-s129

Specs: Win 7, unknown
The display lights up to a blue-gray color and some vertical bands that show some limited horizontal movement while a video is running. I have it hooked to an old 15" CRT and the hi def video looks great on that monitor.

Wondering about options for fixing it or selling it for parts. I see a video on utube to replace the screen, and screens for$30 and up. Is it likely to be just the screen?

Everything else works fine. I restored a disk image I made last year, cuz using CCleaner wipe unused portion juts made it not even boot up at all. So everything seems ok except the display.

How much would a shop have to charge me to fix it?

Thanks, JIm

I'd be more likely to think it's a bad ribbon cable that connects the motherboards onboard graphics to the display. If your into fixing it your self, I would try replacing that part first.

Thanks. I'll see about sourcing a new cable.
