Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, AMD/3GB
A month or two ago, I took my laptop apart to clean it out and I reformatted the drive. It was having issues with generally being slow. That problem was fixed. I now have two new problems. I'm experienced in software and programming, but I am new to hardware. I plan on buying computer parts to build my new computer, but until that can happen, I need to be able to use this one.

Issue one: My sound no longer works. I believe I need a new sound card. I don't think it's a missing driver because my sound was messing up before. The sound would sputter and stop for a couple seconds, like the computer was freezing, but it wouldn't actually freeze, only the sound would. Sometimes the sound would make crackling noises and I would have to wait it out or turn the sound off to get it to stop.

Issue two: My display keeps malfunctioning. I don't know how to explain it too well, but it basically seems like a cable inside the computer might be loose or faulty. Every once in a while, or repeatedly throughout the day, the screen will all of a sudden become jumbled and scratchy. If I try to wait it out, the computer will reboot. I usually just force a reboot. I would take apart my laptop to see what the issue is (perhaps I didn't reattach the right cable to the motherboard correctly last time I took it apart?), but I'm honestly worried about messing my computer up even more. I'm not sure what I did wrong, since I was very careful when I took my laptop apart. It was the third time I have done that with this computer, and every other time I disassembled a computer, it worked fine or better afterwards.

My system:
Toshiba Satellite L305D
Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
CPU AMD Turion X2 64 bit

If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it. My friends think I'm the "ultimate nerd" or something, but I feel like I know so little, especially when it comes to hardware issues.

Update: As far as the sound goes, it's definitely not a driver. I just downloaded a driver for my laptop and installed it, and still no sound.

Are you experienced at taking laptops apart? The graphics & audio are integrated into the motherboard & can not be changed or upgraded. Did you get the drivers from the Toshiba website?

Here's the sound driver:

I'm slightly experienced, though I'm more experienced with desktop computers. I was just reading about the motherboard integration. I did get the driver for the sound from Toshiba's website. Do you think that display issue would be the graphic card? The graphics haven't been messing up. Thank you for your reply.

PS. Would it help if I kicked my laptop out of the window? I was thinking about trying that hehe;)
