Specs: Windows 7
When I tried to install windows xp/7 there is an error message saying disk drive not detected, even when I boot mini window xp, hard disk drive was not detected. But, when I boot in some partition tools eg. partition magic etc, all the disk drive are shown and when I run a test, they are working correctly. But, when I try to install windows, the same message was shown again. Anyone know why? I need help.

If it is a Hard Drive connected to the SATA Controller.

First check in BIOS that Hard Drive Controller is set to IDE/Native Mode.

If does not solve issue you will need to offer the SATA Controller Drivers during install:

@Jolicloud, thanks for your comment. But, there is no such setting/option in the Bios. The Notebook model is Presario CQ42 Notebook PC. All that is shown in the Bios were: 1.Main>System Time, System Date, Notebook model ......etc. 2.Security>Admn. Password, Power-on Password. 3. Diagnostics>Primary Hard Disk Self Test, Memory Test. 4. System Configuration>Language, Fan always on, Action Keys Mode, Boot options>Post Hotkey delay, Cd-rom Boot, floppy boot, internal network adapter boot, boot order>notebook hard drive,.....etc. 5. exit.
