Disc Full Message

January 11, 2010 at 14:39:05
Specs: Windows XP
Am using a NEC DVD RW ND-3550A burner. (Running Win XP). The past few days I'm unable to add any data to an open disc. I keep getting the message that the disc is full. It's not. I've tried burning using Nero Express, CDBurnerXP and the Windows burner. Same message. Have updated my firmware to the latest version 1.07. I have no problem burning to the disc the first time (I save my Quickbooks info to disc) but when it comes to adding additional data, I get the full message. I do leave the CD open so I can add info.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Lynn

Did you add try a second burning program after the first failed?

Up until a couple days ago, I've always used Window to burn the CD's. When I first rec'd the disc full message, I downloaded CDBurnerXP. (I've heard the Windows program isn't that reliable). Same issure with CDBurnerXP. So I had a Nero Express CD, so loaded it. lol. I've since uninstalled the last 2.

What type of disk are you using and what do you mean you leave it open?

How much data does Windows say is on the disk?

Originally Maxell. Then I changed to Memorex.
Leave it open so I can add more data to it.
9.91MB

So Windows states there is only 9.91MB on this disk. What I was asking is what TYPE of disk is it? CDR, RW DL?

Sorry. Misunderstood the question. It's a Memorex High Speed CD-RW 700MB

Well somehow you must have finalized the disk. Check the default settings in the program. They may have changed.
