Disc Drive Doesn't Play Discs

May 7, 2009 at 20:36:59
Specs: Windows Vista
I had the same problem in my old computer a while back and i never knew how to fix it. Anyways, after i installed vista, i decided to install diablo on the computer as well as rip some CDs for my collection. However, as i ripped the CDs i found out it would only rip one second (If i was lucky) per song... At first i thought it was the CD seeing as it was quite old, so i tried diablo, and it asks me if i want to run setup.exe, i say yes. then for no reason the window stops responding, untill i take the disc out. It's worked many times before so i thought it was a hardware problem... turns out i can boot from CD, making it a software problem. I checked in the device manger and everythings up to date and working, i also uninstalled the driver and restarted the computer... Same thing happens. Anyone know whats up?

Also see if you have installed a software that is supported or can be installed in a Vista OS.
