Disable laptop built-in Wireless LAN

Acer Aspire 5610-2013 notebook

Specs: Windows Vista, 2038 mb
The wireless LAN (which the on-off push switch is on the front, you have to shift it to the left for the orange light to go off or on) keeps coming on when I boot. I have a PC card to connect to the internet that is better than the laptop wireless LAN, but when it boots it freezes up more often than not unless I manage to turn push the switch and turn it off after it comes on. How can I keep the internal wireless LAN from coming on when the laptop boots? Mine came with Vista Home Premium. Thanks :)

Finally figured out how to get into my BIOS, but the NETWORK BOOT setting is grayed out, I can't change it. :(

Network boot is NOT what you want! Why not go into Device Manager & disable the wireless?
