How can I disable bios boot menu so as to prevent unauthorised use of my computer by means of booting live CD?

Place a password on the BIOS. That can still be circumvented by clearing the CMOS but others may not know that.

If you have a laptop and do that, don't lose the password.

Hello
I place a password on the BIOS. But others can still boot a live CD by means of F8 boot menu.

Not if you remove the option to boot from the CD drive. Of course you will need to change that setting anytime you need to boot from a CD.

Where is your computer located that you have these problems?

There are boot managers with password protection. Below is just one I found. Google for more boot managers with password. This one is free I think.

Thank you.Boot managers use the first track of hard disk to boot which can be easily bypassed by pressing F8 to bring boot menu during booting

The one sure method is to change cases to a case with a hinged front locking door. They are out there.
