A CD can hold about 700MB while a DVD is bigger and can hold about 4.7GB.

Both media work on the same principles. The major difference is the type of laser used. DVD uses a laser that produces a shorter wave length of light. This allows smaller/ denser pits which increases the density. Then there are dual layer DVD disks. As Stuart stated above, all that can be found using Google.

Try doing your own homework research.

The idea of homework is that you learn something from doing it, not to pop the question on a forum and expect it to be done for you. Forums will not be available for your exams. Searching Google and picking through answers is a better option.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Why are you asking about the difference between a bank's certificate of deposit and the old TV show Death Valley Days?
