Xiaomi / Mi pad 16 gb
February 11, 2016 at 00:57:33
Specs: Windows 8, Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M 480 @2.10GHz
I have a 4 GB RAM stick preinstalled. I want to upgrade it to 8 GB.

I am looking for a single 8 GB module so my doubts are

1. What voltage it needs: 1.35/1.5 V
2. What Frequency/bandwidth: 1333 / 1600 MHz
3. Max Ram system can support
4. Recommended brands? Place where I can get it?
5. Any pro tips :)

Thank You

The L501X can support up to 8GB memory (DDR3 1333 MHz, 1.35v) but you must have 64-bit Windows installed as 32-bit Windows cannot address more than about 3.3GB (after deducting memory reserved for hardware).

Crucial website is the best source as they make sure you only get RAM that's compatible with your model.

For USA site, the page for your laptop model is here:

Thanks for your quick reply Phill.

My main concern is, can I use a single 8 GB module.

Crucial website has suggested various match, they are providing 2x4 GB not a single 8 gigs version.

My current RAM as 1.5 V rating on CPU - Z

"I am looking for a single 8 GB module"

Your system supports up to a max of 8GB but it must be installed as 2 x 4GB. Check the specs of the 4GB stick you already have & pair it up with another of matching specs.

EDIT: don't rely on software. Open the bottom of the laptop & get the info directly off the RAM stick.
