Hi: We have a Dell Latitude D620. The battery is low
and blinking. When connecting the power supply, it
won't take the charge, keeping blinking. Tested the
power supply with another one and with the battery out
of the computer. Still won't take the charge. Replaced the power jack; didn't help. Is the
problem the motherboard? How can we test before the
battery runs completely out? Thanks for your help.
Try to connect direct without battery,if the system work then the battery is bad or if it's refuse to start then adapter or system is bad.Try to swap adapter if again refuse to start then the system(charging system) is bad.
Hi - Thanks for the suggestions. We actually did everything you suggested so it must be the charging system -- does that mean it is the motherboard itself? Or is the charging system something separate that can be replaced? Thanks for any help. Ron829
Some laptops use poweboard that can replaced. If it's connected direct to motherboard u have to replace it.But before replace powerboard or mobo check jack.If the jack is damaged u can replace it.
