Specs: Windows XP, 2.66 GHz / 4069 MB
Hi,

I'm hoping someone can assist me, I've 'googled' and can't find anything as specific as my issue.

Recently, my Dell Vostro 410 Desktop has not been booting.
1st time: Black screen, recieved 4 beeps.
Restarted
2nd time: Black screen, fan spinning fast, nothing else happening.
Restarted
3rd time: same as second time, except the 'Dell' screen displayed and froze.

I then opened the case, and cleaned it out with compressed air.
4th time: started perfectly.
5th time: left overnight, booted, same issue at 2nd.
opened again, removed and reseated RAM
6th time: boots perfectly.
7th time: same issue at 2nd.

Any suggestions???

The 4 beeps sounds like bad RAM (memory). Note that the memory slot on the motherboard could also be bad.

Could also be a bad power supply.

Check the motherboard for BAD CAPACITORS

You should run the FULL Dell Diagnostics too.

MOOOOooove! OH and you're welcome!
