DELL Vostro 1500 battery problem

Specs: Windows 7
I have an issue with DELL Vostro 1500 related to battery problem. After leaving the laptop for a while due to power adapter burnt then when replaced the PC started indicating three times RED blinking LED and BLUE once at the Battery LED on LED indicators. Meaning the AC adapter is not compatible then I went to the PC BIOS to reset to DEFAULT then I got the message to restart the AC adapter so that the adapter can charge the PC battery but all efforts has not resolve the problem. Now I am thinking of taking the AC adapter to the vendor for replacement and go a long with the laptop to test for any other one.

AC adapter volts and amps on both the laptop battery and AC adapter are the same.

It may be the battery that needs changing. Or it may be that only an a/c adapter from Dell is compatible with your laptop.

You should be able to order a genuine replacement a/c adapter direct from Dell on their website. It will cost more but it's safer. Never buy cheap adapters or batteries. Always buy a genuine replacement from the laptop maker.

Hi Phil, have to disagree with you

I have purchased psu's for various laptops, never one from the maker as they are far too expensive. Have recently been using an oem one for a Dell Inspiron.

I never buy the cheapest, but carefully select the best oem version for the purpose, making sure they it is correct for the laptop concerned, with preferably higher output amps than the original.

The model number(s) on the original psu, should be used is ff possible, to find a compatible psu.

Todate, not one has given trouble.

Good luck - Keep us posted.
