I assume when you say blank you mean black (no video at all).
Problems with the built in display on a laptop are common after laptop has been used a lot or at any time if the laptop has been dropped or has had liquid spilled on it.
Try connecting an external monitor to it's video port - usually there's nothing wrong with the video adapter

Some laptops will display on an extermal monitor without you having to do anything. Other laptops require that you press a key combo to toggle the display to external display / built in display - see the Owner's or User's manual for your specific model .
