Dell Inspiron1720 will not turn on

Specs: Windows 7
Hi, My Dell Inspiron 1720 will not turn on when I go to power it up. I replaced the power supply this week.
The one I bought on E-Bay which was for Dell Inspiron 1440-1750. I thought it was for everything in between. Did I screw my computer. Or is there a solution to get it going.

If it fits in the space and all the plugs are the same, it should work. What makes you think it's the psu? No power could be many things.

Thanks for the reply,
The only reason I am thinking this is because the battery is fully charged but the system will not power up. When you hit the power button the light comes on then shuts off. So I am thinking I might of fried something.
The input on the system says Input is 19.5V 4.62A
The Power supply I purchased says output 19.5V 3.34A
So maybe this was it. But I am not sure.
Any suggestions?

I don't think you fried anything. The voltage is correct, but the amperage is under the old one, so you didn't fry it. You may have to have a shop check it out. It's really hard to do without the proper tools. Good Luck.
