Specs: Windows Vista, T5550/2gb
The system display goes off as soon as put on
charge and works well while on battery.
Can anyone suggest practices and solutions
along with reason for such a problem?
Thanks

Control Panel -> Classic View -> Power Options -> "adjust the display brightness" on the left hand side -> Set the brightness for when it is plugged in.

I was wondering if anyone has found a resolution to this problem. I am having the exact same issue w/ a Dell Inspiron. When the laptop is plugged in it basically goes black although if you look closely you can see that screen is still up but very very dark. If I unplug and close and reopen the cover it comes back up. Also noticed that when running on battery the screen somewhat changes brightness very slightly every few seconds. Almost like a slow motion flicker. When plugged into an external monitor it also works fine.

I actually removed the battery as well and it has the same issue while it was plugged in.
