Solved dell hard drive replacement?

Specs: Windows 7
so i am not the smartest when it comes to computers but i cant afford to pay someone to fix it.. I have a dell inspiron M5030, it will not load windows or anything.. i was able to do a diagnostic test on it... it came back with error codes 0F00:1344,065D,0244 and 1A44 saying it cant read, replace disk. I noticed a sound coming from the hard drive that was never there before.. Is it safe to assume i need to replace the hard drive and if so can i put a better one with more GB in it? Also do i need new software to down load onto my computer so i have my windows and everything else as it was when i got it? It is not under any warranty so i can't just send it in.. can anyone help me in this matter?

"Is it safe to assume i need to replace the hard drive and if so can i put a better one with more GB in it?"

Likely, since you state that the HDD is making a new noise you've never heard before.

"Also do i need new software to down load onto my computer so i have my windows and everything else as it was when i got it?"

If you don't have the original OS discs and software that came with the machine, then yes, you'll need both...

You should be able to purchase from Dell a Recovery Disk Set that can reload Windows, drivers, and programs that were packed with your computer, at a reasonable price. Once you have the recovery disk set (which you could have made for the price of a couple of blank DVD's when the machine was new), you can reload everything onto a new hard drive. Then you will need to add an antivirus program, update Windows, and add back your personal files (from the back up you should have) and any additional programs you want.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
