Dell E521 NIC problem with new router

June 10, 2011 at 09:41:31
Specs: Windows XP
I had an old router at home Netgear and just replaced it with a new ASUS one, it does not pick up my Dell E521!!! all my other devices, laptops, phone, etc. can access the internet and be shown on the router, but the with the NIC built (Broad-Com 440x 10/100 integrated controller NIC) in the E521 it wont let me roll/install to an updated driver, stays at the initial install one and my E521 does not have a internet connect even when everything is plugged in. my OS is Window XP. I tried installing all the NIC update drivers but like I stated it won't let me, stays at the 2006 version.

If I switch back using the old router and plug everything back the way it was, my dell e521 works and can go online no problem....

Then the problem is with the new router (or it's confighuration), not the NIC in your Dell.
