Solved Dell 4550 how to speed it up

Specs: xp pro, 2gig
Please tell how to speed up my Dell 4550 with 2 gig of ram stock Nvidia 420 video and Windows XP Pro kinda slow just wondered if theres something in settings i could adjust to make it quicker.Or is it just to old ?

it's just plain old...

cpu comparison with a mordern 100$ cpu:

gpu comparison with a modern budget card(100~ish $):

but you won't need a video card, since intel has a gpu integrated into the cpu as a added bonus

for like 250~300 dollars you can buy & build a new PC which will last 5+ years

Likely the best you can is up RAM to 4megs and ensure you don’t have lots of stuff running in the background.

One other item which would also help is to install an SSD.

But as this system is quite elderly, is it really worth the expense? RAM maybe but no more than that in terms of hardware.

slow as long as ive had it sold and built them a new system.Also bios is a06 not sure if i can or need to update the bios

Well john i have a geforce 6200 video card i have thought id try it if the power supply can handle it its a 256 .
