Deleted partition and need data

May 20, 2009 at 11:46:57
Specs: Windows XP
Hi,
I was installing XP and not paying attention to what patitions I was deleteing. I had 2 raid drived that were mirored. Raid was temortaraly configured as ide to install XP. The XP instalation saw these as 2 deiffernt drives and i deleted to partitions on both. I did not create a new partition and did not formate them. They are currently unalacated and no data has been written to them.. Is there any free software to recover this data? I guess I have 2 tries since both drives had identical data.
Thanks,
cody

Try using testdisk to recover the partitioning. Get it at the link below. Be sure to read the tutorials before using.

Thanks a lot, recovered it all in only 5 min. As a profetional video editer i was quite worried when i deleted data from both sides of the raid miror. Those drives are protected against single drive failiar, but not the users stupidity lol.

Had it been some other version of RAID it may not have been as easy.
