Dedicated or Shared Video Memory

Specs: Windows 7
I'm getting a new laptop soon. The
configuration will probably be
Windows 7
Intel Core i5 processor
4 GB of RAM
ATI Radeon 5470
Does it really matter whether it's shared or
dedicated memory for the
GPU? I will only be gaming occasionally, but
need them to run
smoothly on medium settings. Has anyone
experienced significant
slow downs because of shared memory as
opposed to dedicated

Hd 5470 isn't nice gaming card but modern titles can play with low settings. V-card is better than igp.
