Specs: Windows 7 64 Bit, DUAL CORE
This is a new computer that I built myself and just recently, in the last week or so I have been having this problem. I did not make any major updates or software updates during this time.

Sometimes, not all the time but most of the time, my PC will not go into sleep mode. The monitors go off but the PC is still running. It is unresponsive in trying to bring it back up (monitors coming on) and I have to force it to shut down by holding the button in.

Then other times when it does go into sleep it will not come out. Hitting the keyboard, mouse etc. does nothing. I again have to force it to shut down.

How can I fix this? Thanks in advance!

"How can I fix this?"

Very simple...don't use it. Sleep, standby & hibernate are features that were designed for laptops & notebooks, not desktops. Using them with a desktop system can sometimes cause problems. Instead of using sleep, try reconfiguring your power settings.

The sleep function should still work on PCs, its a power saving feature.

I am also getting blue screens of death... o dear.
