Crashing during re-installation

Asus P5n32-e sli plus motherboard

Specs: Windows Vista
Recently my heat sink over my CPU came loose. After much troubleshooting I figured it out and got my computer to bot up. Through this something got corrupt with the OS and required me to repair it. That didn't work so I'm attempting reinstalling the OS. It continues to crash once it gets to where it boots XP and is continuing with the install process. 39 minutes.... crash! Could it be a hardware issue.

Are you sure you reinstalled the heatsink correctly? Did you remove it, clean it (& the top of the CPU), apply a tiny dab of thermal paste, then reinstall the heatsink securely?

Yes to all. I even had the IT manager at my work check
everything inside to make sure all was correct. It seems to
crash at the same point each time, heat it not an issue.
