CPU_FAN connector replacement?

Specs: Windows 7
my cpu fan connector is broken and the computer keeps on turning off every time i try turning it on. Any suggestions about how to fix this problem, self repair or using a repair service?

They don't break on their own....what happened? and what's broken, the motherboard CPU_fan socket or the CPU_fan plug?

When I was assembling everything together, I plugged the fan wire into the connector when the power was on so there was a spark. After that, the computer always show cpu fan error and doesn't turn on for more than a minute. It is the socket that I think is broken.

If you can disable the cpu fan monitoring in cmos/bios setup you should be able to get an adapter to attach it to one of the molex drive connectors.

Or there may be more than one motherboard fan connection available.

Now that's what I call a sticky situation
