sounds like it could be a memory error. Search support.dell.com for your service tag number and see what the three beeps mean exactly. If you feel comfortable, you could open it up and reseat your ram. Just be careful, lower the latches, pop it out, and pop it back in.

Could be power supply starting to fail. I know sounds odd with all the fans and such working but I have had this happen so many times now the psu is the first thing I look at. The fans and hdd are mechanical pieces that rely mainly on voltage. The voltage can remain fairly constant and you still may have an amperage drop. Amps are what the cpu relies on.

i second that. We had a bunch of gx280's at work that failed one right after the other with power supply failure. I mean like 20 or more of them.

I don't know if it is true but I have heard that a lot of manufacturers, Dell, HP, etc, etc.... use cheaper psus'.

how old is the machine? You could still contact dell support and get help directly from them.

you don't really need the serial number off of the motherboard. There is a service tag sticker on the machine somewhere that is labeled svc tag or service tag. It's 6 or 7 digits alpha numeric.
