connecting hdtv to pc as monitor

Specs: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium, 2.3 GHz / 1790 MB
My TV is a Sharp LC-37SB24U WITH 6 COMPONENT OUTPUTS ,How do i know which to use to connect to my pc which has several usb ports and 1- 9 pin male port besides the monitor port already in use,there is also a fire wire port on pc

You don't use USB to connect it. You use a VGA to HDMI converter that connects to your video card. Your video card may already have one of these so who is the manufacture of your video card?

Once you get one of these you connect it to one of the 2 HDMI (INPUTS) on the back of your set...

The component outs are for a home theater system so you can hook up audio components.

By the way you may want to conciser upgrading your TV because 720p is not the best for computers. If you can afford it go with a 1080p tv.
