I have a very old AMBRA (IBM) 486 computer that I use to run a DOS program. I want to buy a printer to use with this computer. The new printers in local stores only have USB ports. My old computer does not, of course, have a USB port, and I understand from reading some posts on this site that DOS would not in any event recognize a USB port? I would appreciate any input on my options. Sorry about the "Product" entry above. I can't seem to put in that box the correct information.
The problem isn't so much the physical connection but available drivers for DOS. Google for DOS printers, you will find many hits.
I'd disagree. Both PS and PCL printer languages were widely used back then. The interface is the biggest issue. Network printing from a DOS box could be a solution.
