Computer will not load the desktop

March 26, 2009 at 12:34:35
Specs: OS Tiger 10.4
I have an imac g4, 800mhz, 768 ram, and 50+ gig hard drive. The issue I have is...I get the gray apple screen and the little sunburst. Then I get the Mac os X screen, and my computer will not load the desktop. It stays on the Mac OS X screen. After a few minutes it goes into standby. I can touch a key or move the mouse and still nothing. I can not get it to load to the desktop. Can anyone help? Thanks for your patience and understanding.

You may get more responses in the Mac section (near the bottom below UNIX...)

I've looked there and see some are having similar problems to what I'm having as well. Looks like nobody answered their questions yet. I would like to thank you "johnr" for reading my post and attempting to help me. Maybe someone else will read this post as well. I can only cross my fingers. I want to thank you "johnr" for attempting to help me, and actually reading my post. I was skeptical as to if anybody would answer. Once again Thank You, and hope you have a good evening.

If more people are haveing the same issue. Could this be something very rare a mac virus? It's ashame most people that write viruses only make them attack Windows.
