Specs: 7 pro
First screen says disc 0 seek failure, press f1 for normal boot. f12 for setup. I was told that this computer has done this for over a year. They just press f1 then type in there password & every thing was ok untill the computer started to shut down as soon as you type in your password & go back to the f1 screen. Is it the harddrive?
Computer is a dell inspiron 530 desktop with windows 7 pro.

No blue screen, you type in your password then computer shuts down then back to a black screen that says - disc 0 seek failure , press F1 to boot normally or F12 for setup.

Test memory with Memtest via bootable CD
Test the hard drive similarly with hard drive mfg's utility via DOS bootable CD

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
