Solved Computer slowing down and freezing quickly after startup

April 16, 2018 at 17:43:51
Specs: Windows 10, AMD 10/16Gb ram
My laptop was having a problem of overheating, so I took it apart and the thermal paste was dry so I replaced it. (Not sure if the problem is connected to this)

Now, a bout a month later I am having a problem with the computer randomly shutting off. Also a lot of times after running for about 5-10 minutes, not running intensive programs, it begins to run very slow and after a minute it freezes.

As well as this, if I close the computer while it is on, and no applications are open, the fan still runs very fast. If I put it in my bag I have to make sure it is off or asleep, if I don't then it runs till it overheats and shuts off.

How can I fix these problems?

It must be on a flat surface when using.

Put a external fan on, directed at the comp, does that help?

If so, do a thorough dust clean, including the power supply.

Thermal paste doesn't go bad. Please explain how you removed & replaced it. Also, what type of paste did you use?

Also the method of application of the thermal paste and the quantity is critical.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
