Specs: Windows 10 64 bit, AMD a-8 5600k/ 8gb ram
Random shutdowns
I purchased a new motherboard from gigabyte after getting a new(to me) video card. After installating them my computer has a shutting down. I thought it could be windows 10 so I did a clean install, still shuts down. I thought it might be the power supply, purchased a new power supply and it is still shutting down.
The motherboard is a gigabyte F2A68HM-HD2
Ram Hyper 2x4gb sticks
CPU AMD A8-5600k
Windows 10 64-bit
Video card Radeon HD 7800 series myst edition
Also motherboard and so don't recognize full 8 gbs of ram, only 4 gbs.

Did you apply the thermal grease to the CPU heat-sink exactly in accordance with the CPU manufacturers instructions?

Download HWinfo32 and let us have the temperatures:

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

" I thought it might be the power supply, purchased a new power supply and it is still shutting down"

It would help to post the make/model/wattage of both PSUs. If the PSU isn't the problem, you probably didn't install the heatsink properly. All modern AMD CPUs (with the exception of Ryzen) use the "middle dot" method for thermal paste application.

Sounds like thermal compound missing or incorrectly applied.
Install all MB drivers?
Go into BIOS and adjust all settings (default not usually best settings)?

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
