The sandy5660 in this 4 year old thread?

I was expecting a reference from maybe a few days ago not 4 years.

It sounds like a power or heat problem. Do you have software to monitor the temperatures? Even though you cleaned it out did you verify the fans are all spinning, especially on the cpu and video adapter?

Does your power supply have sufficient oomph, er, I mean, wattage, to handle everything connected to it?

It doesn't sound like malware but you might want to run malwarebytes as was recommended to sandy5660. Here's a download:

Did you clean include the CPU heatsink and Display Card heatsink (if any)?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

"i work on computers for a living...."

You work on PCs for a living but you're running Win7 with just 1.5GB RAM? And you run a "tune-up" program?

"i've cleaned it bare to the bone..down to only mircosoft windows 7 programs only"

You didn't do a clean install, correct? Just cleaned out the existing installation as best you could? The 1st thing you should do is undo any changes made by AVG PC TuneUp, then uninstall it & throw the disc in the trash so that it can never be installed again. Then install CCleaner & use it regularly to clear out the internet garbage & keep the registry clean. You can also use it to manage your startup apps & uninstall programs. If you take my advice & install it, pay attention during the installation & make sure no bundled software gets installed. Version 4.10 was just released today, the "Slim" version (without the bundled software) will be available in a few days if you prefer to wait. Regardless, PC TuneUp has got to go! You might wanna consider a different security suite as well.

Make sure all your drivers are up to date & since you're playing "browser games", make sure you have the latest versions of Java & Flash. And try using IE for your games just to see what happens. At the very least, you should keep it up to date (currently IE 11.0.2) so that you can continue receiving regular Windows Updates.
