Solved Computer monitor goes blank

December 2, 2012 at 04:17:17
Specs: Windows 7, Core i5 3.40GHZ / Kingston 16GB RAM
When I turn on my computer for the first time in the morning, after about 15 minutes the computer goes blank while the computer is still running, so I have to press the reset button to restart the computer. This only happens once a day, for the rest of the entire day, this does not happen, only when I turn on the computer for the first time in the morning. Please someone help me to my email (thacha8485@optusnet.com.au)

Kind Regards
Rangas

Do u left your computer free for the first 15 minutes after switching it on?
Does this happen when u are in the middle of something?

U set your system or monitor to sleep after a certain amount of time(i guess which is 15 mins) when not touched. Check your power settings in control panel.

Hi kuwese

I think my problem came back and I didn't do anything for it to come back. When windows is logged on, the went blank, when I pressed the mouse or a keyboard button, the monitor came back on and back onto windows, then when I went out and came back, the monitor has gone blank again, but this time when I pressed something, the monitor did not come back on, I had to press the rest button on the computer.

Could it be a video card driver issue? or something to fix in the Bios?

My monitor went blank again including the monitor standby light, but after unpluging the VGA cable from the back of the computer from the Geforce card and plugging it into the onboard VGA port on the back of the computer, the monitor standby light came back on, then I unplugged it from the onboard VGA port from the back of the computer and plugged it back into the Geforce vga port at the back of the computer, then the monitor came back onto windows and back to normal.

Could someone please help me? :)

Kind Regards
Rangas
