The beeps are a code that gives a general idea of what the problem is. The beep codes vary with motherboard and bios manufacturer. The manual for your system or motherboard probably includes the beep codes. Or post back the exact model number of the system or motherboard and maybe we can find out.

Also, did you do anything or change anything in the computer that may have contributed to the problem?

Without any specifications or even a brief description of the computer there is little we can tell you.
Is it a laptop, desktop or tablet? If a desktop system is it a namebrand readymade or was it custom built?
How did you discover the problem? Did it fail while in operation or simply not start up after being shut down normally? Have there been any electrical problems such as blackouts/brownouts or thunderstorms in your location that may have given the system a power surge?

Even w/o beep codes if it is the video refresh good luck...I was almost lucky on this one yesterday but however never implimented int 0b on my hardware refresh using int 15 [I would not recommend it either as it is kind of buggy on the 80586].It did however improve keyboard and mouse rates as well as fastvga features by this call :

mov ah,0d
int 15
int 21

however I realize now that I should have made this an int 20 call-no typo claim there.
