computer freezes at award bios screen

Specs: Windows XP home
when i turn on my computer it goes to the award modular bios screen it says to press delete to enter setup/qflash but the keyboard isnt operating it flashes when i turn on the computer but it doesnt allow me to press delete to get pass the screen what can i do thats not so costly

With the computer turned off try removing the cmos battery, or use the reset pin to reset the bios

ok i'm not that comp literateso where and what is the cmos and reset pin and i do turn it off right lol

The battery is located on the motherboard. It's a little silver battery much like those in a watch. It's flat and about the size of a nickle. You have to remove the side cover and ground yourself first by touching the metal chassis. Unplug the computer from the power before you attempt this. Remove it and wait a few minutes before putting it back in. You won't get a shock, so don't worry.
