I was using a nvidia graphics card. Today I got an ati graphics card. I started my computer, removed nvidia and physics driver and shut the computer down. I then attached the ATI 5670 to mainboard and started the pc. It started fine on generic video driver. I installed Ati catalyst driver and restarted the pc. Now it's not working. When I see the Starting Windows of windows 7 loading screen, the animation continues and then a single flick in the monitor and everything goes dark. The cpu, gpu fans are still running. The pc is on, but nothing on display, the monitor light keeps flashing. I tried to open on safe mode, it worked. But I couldn't remove the ati driver in safe mode. I use windows seven, and the ati driver is the latest. Now, what can I do ? I have too important data in C and can't risk to install a fresh copy of 7. What can be the problem ? Thanks.

A fresh copy of Windows 7 wouldn't change a thing. You have a hardware problem. Could be a weak power supply. List you complete system specs and go from there.

"I have too important data in C and can't risk to install a fresh copy of 7"

Why would you need to re-install Windows to fix a driver problem? And why is it that you can't uninstall the ATI driver from Safe Mode - what happens when you try? It should uninstall. If it doesn't, it's possible that the driver is corrupted or didn't install correctly. Since you said it's the latest driver, I'm guessing that you didn't use the drivers disk that came with the card, so you must have downloaded the driver from the AMD/ATI website?

You didn't say so in your explanation, but I assume after you removed the nvidia drivers & shutdown, you physically removed the nvidia card then installed the ATI card in it's place?
