I bought a new dell hd 2010 monitor and want to hook it up to my computer, bought a new ati radeon hd 2400xt dvi-i graphics card. Installed card, hooked up monitor , monitor flashed "no vgi connected", computer doesnt recognize graphics card.
Psu requirement for 2400xt is 350w, +12v@20A. Check the psu label. Un-install onboard video driver and disable it, u can set graphic adapter priority to pci-e in bios. Make sure the monitor is connected to the card not motherboard.
OK OK so I feared un-neccessarily! when I disabled my display device nothing went black, phew! comp still didnt recognize video card---BUT there was a reason for that. I shut off computer opened case and reset video card (turning red in embarrasment) It was not correctly seated..... Thanks everyone for your help
