Compaq Presario Beeping repetitively and won't startup.

Specs: Vista
Hi, We have a Compaq Presario SR1108AN that out of the blue started repetitive beeping when we tried to turn it on. I googled the problem and someone suggested it was to do with RAM. We removed the RAM one at a time and by removing one of them we stopped the beeping.
Yay! ... we thought we just needed to replace the one that was making it beep and we'll be right (you might realize by now I'm no computer expert lol). But we just replaced it and it still beeps! Any suggestions on what to try now would be appreciated. I found an old thread on this site with someone having the same problems back in 2008 and am hoping someone has since found a solution. Cheers

Most likely the slot is dirty. Take a piece of paper, teare off a small section and fold it so that it will fit in the ram slot. Now run it up and down the slot to kind of polish the contacts in the slot.

Hope this helps.

Compaq BIOS Beep Codes

U can use pencil eraser to clean memory contacts.
The supported memory for your system is DDR 266 (PC2100) & DDR 333(PC2700) non-ECC, 2.5v.
Also make sure u are running ratio 1:1
