After the reload, came to work this morning, and it's on! I could scream-- I think I will sell it without it's battery. Grrrrr!

When it turns on again, open a command prompt & run
netstat -an
See if it's connecting to a remote server.

TCP LISTENING on 4 lines
UDP *:* on 5 continuous lines
What does this mean?
Is it connecting to a server?
Thanks!

Listening isn't connecting. If there were a connection made it would say established. Run anti malware from malwarebytes just to be sure that there is nothing there.

Make sure you do not have 'Wake on LAN' enabled in your BIOS.
Run Malwarebytes (as above) to make sure.
Turn off 'Allow Remote Desktop' access (unless you have a need for it, it is a weakness in your security).

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
