compaq keyboard driver sdm4540ul, need driver

Specs: Windows 7
Keyboard wont type at all and the # lock light is on but cant type anything at all , I am wondering if thats because the keyboard needs driver

Keyboards generally don't need special drivers. Has this keyboard ever worked for you? From what I could find, it's probably 15+ years old, so maybe it's time for an upgrade?

You'd only need drivers for any special keys (those above the keyboard). As riider states, it's likely worn out from age. The standard keys still should work unless something is wrong with the keyboard itself or the port it's attached to.
