Specs: Windows XP
In the case of Optiplex 170L, you have to remove the CMOS battery to rest CMOS. Leave it for about 2 minutes, then put it back.

I don't know who you are supposed to be replying to but that method applies to all laptops and desktop computers, most everyone knows that if they know anything about computers.

Regardless of whether you use the clear CMOS jumper or remove the battery, it does NOT have to be left out for 2 minutes. It only takes a second or 2 to clear, just make sure the power cord is unplugged 1st.
