cmos is locked. I have not passworded it. Not under maint

Specs: Windows 7, pentium dual 3ghz 4gig
cmos locked. not under maintence.Ins560 No password was entered by me. No longer under
maintence. I would like to change boot order. Hard drive is first & can't boot from CD drive.

Passwords that were set in the bios Setup of a desktop computer are usually easy to remove. The following is one of the ways you can do that.

You need to remove the cmos battery and re-install it.
You MUST set at least the current date and time in the bios, Save settings, after re-installing the battery.

CD-rom or similar DOES NOT have to be listed first in the Boot Order or similar list in in the bios Setup in order for you to be able to boot the computer from a bootable CD or DVD, but it must be listed before hard drive or similar.
