|That's why I use only WD drives. I have had a number of drives over the years fail, all of which came with the computers and all of them were Seagate. Way back I preferred Maxtor, but since Seagate purchased them, I switched to Western Digital. Back in 1995, my brother warned me away from anything Seagate except their enterprise drives. Since Windows XP, I have built all the computers for the family except laptops, which have helped eliminate most of the issues.|
Since this looks like an informative post and I do not see any question, I am leaving no answer.
For anyone else reading this out there, if you hear the click, click, click, back up, back up, back up. Now, now, now!!! It is a sure sign of a dying drive.
You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
