Who created the password? Computers generally don't come from the factory with a CMOS password in place. There are 2 ways to clear CMOS & reset the BIOS. Start by unplugging the power cord, then remove the side cover from the case.

1. Look for a jumper near the CMOS coin battery. Move the jumper from the normal postion to the clear position, wait a few seconds, then move it back to the normal position again.

2. If you can't locate the jumper, carefully remove the CMOS coin battery, wait a few seconds, then re-install the battery.

The question is this. Are you authorized to perform that operation. Could be any number of reasons for that password to be there.
