✔ Best Answer
Advanced Guide>Scanning>Scanning with the Bundled Application Software
>MP Navigator EX Screens> Auto scanning menu

Click on the auto scanning menu, and under the pop down menu save as type change it from auto to the format that you prefer.

if you want to look at the documentation where this was found and other helpfull information it was found at

The type of document being scanned does not normally change the output, which is usually a .jpg picture as default. Best restart the computer and try again to see if the fault repeats. It might have just been one of those glitches.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

There isn't a need to apologize, the email that was sent was just a polite reminder, and is only sent once automatically. There isn't a need to rush in picking a best answer if there isn't one. :)
