February 24, 2009 at 07:26:54
Specs: Macintosh
I have a PC and a Mac and want to use my Hard Disc Drive on
both of them.
I have split my HDD in two and i would like 1/2 to be able to
run by my mac, so mac formated, and the other to be able to
be run by windows, so windows formated.
How do i change the other half to windows formated?

I recommend you pick up a disk partitioning tool such as Partition Magic or EASES Partition Manager. This will let you visually see the partitions on the drive, and change the formation of individual partitions.

http://www.partition-tool.com/ is free (or offers a free home version), and will let you format each partition.

How about something like TransMac, instead of a dual hard disk.

Since you are going to be using this with a PC, you can download the program to a PC, connect the drive to the PC, and use the program to convert the one partition to NTFS or FAT32.
